Porcelain Garland Basket, c.1880 by Carl Tielsch & Co.

$240.00

A charming pierced porcelain basket in oval form, delicately hand-painted with laurel garlands and golden bows. Made in Germany by Carl Tielsch, whose porcelain factory in Altwasser was a hallmark of 19th-century refinement. This piece blends Neoclassical symmetry with Rococo lightness—equally suited to fruit, fine linens, or nothing at all.

Details
• Porcelain with openwork slat design
• Hand-painted ivy green garlands and gilt bows
• Approx. 25cm L × 15cm W × 10cm H
• Marked on base with CT eagle crest (used c.1875–1930)

Condition
Very good antique condition. Some age-related wear and glaze imperfections. One chip to underside base rim, stable and not visible from above.

Styling Note
Let it rest on a dark wood table or bookcase, filled with figs, eggs or nothing at all. Particularly lovely when placed beneath dappled morning light.
